M.Tech. (Bombay University), 1969

     Technical Experience:

Mr.Shah worked at Central Salt and Marine Chemical Research Institute, Bhavnagar as a scientist from 1966 to 1969 and during research work for his M.Tech program developed Calcium silicate Insulation suitable for service temperature unto 650 °C from reaction of Sodium Silicate, Hydrochloric acid, Lime & Asbestos Fibre. (This quality is now obsolete and banned as asbestos fibre causes a cancer called Asbestosis.)  He has published the paper on “Industrial Insulators” in the CSIR publication & patented the same along with Dr. D.J.Mehta.

Mr. Shah setup Mona chemicals in 1972 manufacturing Precipitated silica & Sona fibres in 1981 manufacturing Sodium Silicate, both S.S.I units.

After 1991, Mr. Shah with daughters:  Mona, Sona & Rupa, conducted research at various renowned libraries throughout the world.

Subsequently, through in-house R&D efforts led by him and with the support of a dedicated team at Megha Insulations Pvt. Ltd., he achieved success in developing the product Calcium silicate Insulation indigenously to International standards using hydro-thermal reaction route of lime & silica.

Mr. Shah is a voting member of the Thermal Insulations sub-committee CHD 027 of Bureau of India Standards, New Delhi, INDIA and committee C.16 on Thermal Insulations, American Standards of Testing and Materials (ASTM), Philadelphia, U.S.A.

Mr. Shah is involved actively in R&D, finance, marketing and overall management of the company.

Mr. K.A.Shah
has a B.E. degree in Civil engineering with honors from L.D. Collage of Engineering, Gujarat University (1990).  He holds the distinction of securing the first rank in all eight semesters of Engineering.

He also holds a Master’s degree in Civil engineering from North Carolina State University (NCSU), Raleigh, U.S.A. with a GPA of 4 out of 4 and was nominated as a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society for academic achievements.

  Technical Experience:

The manufacturing of C.S.I.M. is the natural extension of Civil engineering Technology.  He was a Research Assistant at the Civil Engineering Department, NCSU, from 1990 to 1993 where he was involved in an ASTM testing procedure development for the National co-operative Highway Research Programme, U.S.A. He has presented a technical paper at the Transportation Research Board meeting held at Washington, D.C., U.S.A in 1992. He has also presented a paper on Optimal Resource leveling at the Fifth International conference on Computing in Building and civil Engineering at Anaheim, USA.

He was a Project Engineer at CTL Engineering, one of the ENR top 500 consulting firms, located in Raleigh, U.S.A from 1992 to July 1994 and has handled projects worth US$ 1 million.

After joining MIPL in 1994/95 he has actively handled the various aspects of the project.

Mr. Shah is a voting member of the Thermal Insulations Sub-committee CHD 027 of Bureau of Indian Standards, New Delhi, India.

He has actively worked in the area of energy conservation and through his innovative modifications he has helped achieve tremendous cost savings in Rolling mills and small Foundries.

He has also made a presentation on “Thermal Energy conservation” at a seminar on “ Energy Management- the New Imperative “ organized by the confederation of Indian Industry and subsequently on “Role of insulation” in an Energy Conservation seminar held by National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC), Rajkot.
